Ellen has over 25 years experience as a planner with local government and in private practice, including 12 years as a senior consultant planner with Hirst Consulting Services, specialising in economic impact assessment for retail developments. Ellen joined DFP in 2006 and became a Partner in 2011.
Ellen has extensive experience in many facets of local government planning including the assessment of an extensive and diverse range of development applications and the preparation and presentation of evidence in the NSW Land and Environment Court. In her capacity as a consultant planner, Ellen has been involved with the preparation of Statements of Environmental Effects, environmental assessment reports for major development proposals and site specific Master plans.
Ellen also has extensive experience in retail and economic planning and has prepared Economic Impact Assessments and feasibility studies for a variety of commercial development proposals, Employment Lands Studies and major commercial centre studies.
Ellen holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Planning), Mitchell College of Advanced Education (now Charles Sturt University) and is a Member of the Planning Institute of Australia and Certified Practicing Planner.
