Urban
Design

Urban Design involves the shaping of space with a focus on enhancing amenity, liveability and visual appeal.  It is not only a function of planning and architecture, but also the social, economic and environmental elements that combine to influence the arrangement, appearance and function of buildings and places.

We believe urban design should be part of an integrated process that is incorporated early in the planning process, particularly when informing strategic planning policy and advising on development proposals.

DFP undertakes urban design work on behalf of local government as well as the private sector.
